Quebec City Marathon 10 Km

Undertaken by : Marie-Claude Desaulniers

Three years ago, my grandmother passed away at the CHUL after a long fight following a stroke.

Last year, at the age of 48, my cousin died a few weeks after suffering a heart attack. It goes without saying that the health of those closest to me concerns me a great deal. I want to inspire those around me to take control of their lives by eating well and being more active.

On August 28th, 2011, I will run my first 10K at the SSQ Québec City Marathon and my goal is to raise $500.00 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Québec. When Josée Giguère, the Foundation’s Director in the national capital, told me that close to 80% of the money raised went towards the mission and that heart disease was the leading cause of death of women in Québec, I told myself that your donations, which will go to research and prevention programs, will be well invested.

What’s more, adopting and maintaining healthy lifestyle habits will most probably ensure that I will be around and healthy for my son Édouard for many years to come.

That is what I call motivation!

Won’t you help me?
